Cities trying to rejuvenate recycling efforts

This article is from usatoday.com. The author mention the local government of Fort Worth wants to encourage nation’s recycling effort by economic stimulus and punishment, because the local government afraid of scanty landfills. Most people pay attention on environmental issues of hybrid car or global warming because landfills have enough volumes. Fort Worth took an impressed step to help recycling when it charged the trash can on the pavement. The residents of Fort Worth began throwing more into the recycling bin after the government charged the fee of the trash can. The city made more money now than lost money before by selling recyclable materials. The container that people can throw recycling into make recycling is easier. An environmental economist said recycling cost much money than dumping garbage at the landfills. Recycling is like entertainment because people feel less guilty when they do recycling for protecting environment. The amount of recyclable garbage is growing slowly in America from 1990 to 2000.

Recycling is a good way to reduce the amount of garbage. I do recycling in Taiwan and residents in Taiwan need to do recycling when they dump their garbage. We don’t have to do recycling in Carbondale. I feel guilty when I put all kinds of garbage into the garbage can. I think the state of Illinois needs to make a law to make residents do recycling. Some people recycle garbage at schools or restaurants. A lot of people don’t do recycling at home. Recycling is good way to protect our environment. I will do my best to recycle garbage even though I don’t have to recycle garbage in Carbondale.
