The YouTube Survey Results

Our class is News Talk class in CESL. We study the news, and we decided to do a survey about YouTube. This is a result about a survey of YouTube. Our group was studying about copy-right in YouTube and we read the article about it. We wanted to know several things about YouTube, so we made questions about it. For example, we wanted to know how many people watch movie clips in YouTube and how often they use it. The most things that we wanted to know whether people think YouTube is guilty or not. Each person had to do a survey toward eight Americans, so I handed out my eight surveys in my dormitory because many Americans lived in my dormitory. When I gave them the survey, they were so nice and friendly. All of them gave me back the survey soon when they finished it. Therefore, it was not hard for me to do a survey and I could get a result of the survey easily.

I found several things through the result of this survey. 80 percents of people who are from 18 to 30 watch movie clips in YouTube, but only 39 percents of over 30 years old people watch them in YouTube. It means YouTube is more popular among younger people. Also, 50 percents of each age people says YouTube is guilty. However, 95 percents of males and 80 percents of females say sites like YouTube should not be illegal. Moreover, about 60 percents of people who are from 18 to 30 answers that they want to continue to watch free clips if they knew if it was illegal to watch them. On the other hand, many people who are over 30 say that they stop watching free clips in YouTube if it is illegal.

In my opinion, most people do not care about YouTube even if it puts movie clips on the Internet without permission because they just want to enjoy watching movie clips free. I was surprised at the result of this survey that most people wanted to continue to watch free clips if they knew it was illegal to watch them. Before I did the survey, I expected that most people said they stopped watching free clips if it was illegal. Therefore, I was amazed at this result and I thought they were egoistic. However, older people who are over 30 said they stopped watching free clips if it was illegal. I thought they had more morals compared with younger people. In addition, if YouTube is disappeared on the Internet, other people will make a site like YouTube. Through this survey I thought it was difficult to find the solution to remove sites like YouTube on the Internet because many people were eager to watch free clips.
