Move to Stop Indian Child Marriages

Every day I read the news from BBC. I look for some strange habitations. One day I found a strange and good article whose title is "move to stop Indian child marriages". According to Singh (2002) in his article, “Move to stop Indian child marriages” the Indian government try to prevent child from marriage, especially on the Hindu auspicious day. In this day many children are married, whereas many non-government organizations say that is wrong and they try to stop this marriage. In rural areas, they do not look to the law and ignore it. The law determine the age of marriage, 18 for girls and 21 for boys at least. There are many reasons for child marriage as a UNICEF report: poverty, tradition, and protect children from unwanted sexual advances. Critics say if there is sustainable, the problem will solve. Some organization tries to get a law to determine the age of marriage.

In my opinion, marriage is very important for all, boys and girls, if who will marry choose the best time to do that. The life is different now; it is not like ancestor’s life. There are many responsibilities refer to the groom and the bride. They need money, house and furniture, and others. Therefore, I agree with the organizations which required from their governments to take a good law to determine the age of marriage.
