Title of article: Somalia’s famine refugees celebrate end of Ramadan with meagre food aid
Publication: TheRecord.com
Date of article: Tue Aug 30 2011

Short summary:

This article talks about that Somalia's famine refugees are celebrating the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which ends a month of fasting, with the food rations distributed by aid agencies for their survival. One refugee family said they were grateful Tuesday for surviving the long trek to seek food. Meanwhile, For them, Freedom for aid agencies to move in and help and lack of funding are the most serious problems. However, on this day, they were happy and they can forget their rough situations.

Discussion:

1. How can we help for the severe famine in our own country?
2. Who has the responsible? Should we feel responsible for these situations?

My opinion:

I think this article is very warm. But we need to consider what is the real solution of widespread problems refugees faced. International aid agencies have to help regugees not only on specific holiday but also as much as possible they can do. In addition, people of the world should be concerned about them and think about meaning of the aid to them.
