Title of article: Saudi king: Women will be allowed to vote and run for office
Publication: http://www.cnn.com/2011/09/25/world/meast/saudi-women-vote/index.html?hpt=wo_c2
Date of article: 1:06 PM EST, Sun September 25, 2011
Short summary:
This news talked about an important thing which happened in Saudi Arabia. Yesterday, King Abdullah allowed women to enter Shura Council and gave them a chance to vote and enter the Municipal council. But for the woman to drive the car, he doesn’t allow them.
Issues that can I find:
1- Why did King Abdullah allow women to enter these two councils?
2- Why doesn’t King Abdullah allow women to drive?
3- What is the reaction of the Saudi people to these two resolutions?
My opinion:
I think these two resolutions are very important in this time because the woman is one of the important parts in Saudi society. On the other hand, woman can’t drive in this time because infrastructure is not prepared until now to have more cars in the street. Also, in Saudi Arabia the women are protected and preserved from any hatred.
