Title of article: Rangers outfielder Hamilton admits to relapse "weakness"

Author: Mark L. Stokes

Publication: Reuters

Date of article: 02/03, 2012

Short summary:

The 2010 American League's MVP, Josh Hamilton told the medias that he had suffered a relapse in two bars in Dallas area on Friday. The reason he started drinking again is because he had some issues with his family members. He feels regretful about his relapse. He volunteered and passed the drug test. He is thankful for his teammates and the club chose to believe him. He didn't mean to relapse back to alcohol. He has also made a commitment, will he never do that again.

Issues:

Why do some people tend to escape their predicament with alcohol?

Can alcohol make people feel better when they are in troubles?

Why some rich people do not feel happy even though they are wealthy?

How can we prevent an alcohol's relapse?

Opinion:

I like to drink, but I always control myself and don't be drunk. For me, drinking is a good way to enjoy the social life and relax myself. If we only care how pleasurable we are, that is a selfish concept. Losing control will cause some problems on ourselves and our peers. Drinking might satisfy our life, but it also can destroy our intellect. Taking care of myself is a duty; being drunk is never a good excuse.
