Can high tech save your life?

According to this article, “Can high tech save your life?” , America’s hospitals are confused about the issue that they use high technology, such as computer, to observe patient’s condition. There are two opinions. One of these is using computers helps patients. Actually, using high technology causes lower mortality rate. However, another one is using high technology may make new errors, such as double dosing.

I consider that using high technology is effective for hospitals. I have a friend who is nurse. She works at ICU. She always has to repeat three actions that are looking patient’s condition, checking monitor, and taking notes. If she uses computers, she watches only monitors. So, she will concentrate on patient beyond the present. I believe that computers support doctors and nurses.
