The Amazon Gets Less and Less Green

I read this news from time.com. The article discusses deforestation in Brazil is still rising. The new researches show area of deforestation is wider than before. The environment Ministry tried to discuss a method for stopping the destruction. The environment Ministry will send 800 federal police offices to control this situation. The environment Ministry tell landowners that owners need to follow their environmental policy. If they don’t follow the policies, the government will stop selling their products from their land. But this policy didn’t work very well on the area that is in a remote region. Environment groups don’t believe this policy will work because Brazil is the biggest exporter about beef and soy. The deforestation rise when the commodity price rises. Another worrying thing is that deforestation in west of Brazil is getting worse. Two hydro-electric dam on the largest tributary of Amazon damage the environment. If the situation is not improved, it will be a bad nature in the future.

Deforestation is a big problem in Amazon but the situation seems to be worse and worse. I think Brazil government needs to send more police officers to protect this biggest tropic rainforest in the word. Stopping commercial benefits that comes form deforestation is the main method to protect rainforest. Protecting rainforest also saves different species to live in the earth. The most urgent assignment is preventing illegal deforestation from destroying our beautiful forest and let forests absorb more CO2 to decline the global warming.
