National Public Radio
Date of article:
2 / 3 / 2012
Short summary:
According to some researchers at MIT's Lab, it is the time to have computers which can understand our emotions. They think it may improve customer service. Most people think technology doesn't need emotions, but according to what Ms. Picard, a professor at MIT Lab said, "It does need to show respect for people's feeling."
Issues:
- Do you that technology might be able to understand people's feeling? Why or why not?
- Do you think that people need these kinds of technology?
My Opinion:
In my view, I think technology can't understand our emotions. That's because some times we don't express what we are feeling by saying something. In fact, sometimes people smile even when they feel sad. So, technology can't know what going on in our hearts. In short, technology can't understand our emotions because it doesn't know what is inside our hearts.
