Changing climate in the World

The author said that changing climate is the serious problem in the world in "Attenborough: Climate is changing" on BBC News. Sir David Attenborough said following things to BBC. We need to solve this problem, such as global warming, increasing CO2 for our future life. If we don’t do anything for this environmental problem, it will become really worse in the future. There are many cause of changing climate, so we should do measure to improve the environment of the Earth.

I'm agree with this author. Today, the environmental problems are noticed in the world. Actually, I had an unusual experience in this winter, so I'm interested in this article and topic. In this winter I went back home, Japan. My hometown has a lot of snow every winter, but this winter was different from usual. We had too much snow unusually. And there were a lot of accidents, some people died, some houses were broken, and also traffic jams were a serious problem because of snow. I heard this problem affected commerce excessively. Then, I realized that the environment of the Earth is changing truly, so I thought we have to do something for the environment and solve these problems. Therefore, I'm strongly agree with this author.

Venezuelan anger at computer game

Venezuelan anger at computer game” is the article I read on BBC News. It was about the Venezuelan Government accused of the violent computer game produced by U.S. game entertainment company. Venezuelan President Hugo Chaves afraid that this game can motivate an invasion in Venezuela. His supporter think that this game is prepared for a real invasion in future and for use by U.S army. However, the company said that the company has no relation with U.S. Government and this game is only about entertainment.

I agree with Mr.Chavez that the game can motivate an invasion. Becase I think many computer games, including vedio and internet games, effect to our lifestyle at present. Many game entertainment companies have produced more realistic games. In a game, players can participate in the situation that look like they are staying in that situation. They can manage almost everthing in their game world. For example, in SimCity, a stimulation and city-building game, we can build and design our city. In another series of SimCity, we have a restaurant. We can decorate our restaurant, create menu, and manage our business. It seem to be the real situation that we can prepare for our business in a real world. In the same way, I think “Mercenaries2” can prepare us for a real world, too. It can possibly motivate the violence and prepare armed forces for war. Therefore, U.S. Government should have any policy to control these violent games.

Danish Cartoons Incident

I read Cartoon Rage Continues on EBSCO host. The author defends freedom of speech for a Danish newspaper that published cartoons criticized Islam and Prophet Mohammed. Also, the article focuses on the reaction of Muslims toward the cartoons of Prophet Mohammed. Majority of Islamic countries were outrageous and offensive by these cartoons. Governments demanded apologies from Denmark and Norway. However, western’s view at the problem differently, they considered it as a freedom of speech and they claimed that Muslims misunderstood the idea of the cartoons.

I have never been this angry in my whole life. I myself reject resolutely these kind of cartoons because it’s against our prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. Prophet Mohammed didn’t do anything to them. You can’t judge a person until you know him. He is the greatest person in this universe. He spent most of his time teaching and helping people. He taught them good things and he even forbids doing any harmful thing to a plant. So, how could those people who don’t know anything about him publish an insulting cartoon. According to them, their resource is bunch of terrorists, what a resource. In every country, in every race and in everywhere, there are bad people and good people. Whatever actions committed by those terrorists has nothing to do with Islam and Prophet Mohammed. Answering for R. Spencer’s question, author of the article, yes bin laden, al zawarhiri and al zawaquri all misunderstood the teaching of Islam. They are trying to apply the old rules of teaching of Islam that should be applied at that time. At time when Islamic government was starting to establish. At that specific time, there were many enemies and Prophet Mohammed was obliged to fight them. However, now in 21 century we can’t fight each other. In new era, modern world and modern governments solve their problems through political discussion and thing like that. Jihadists are committing violence and applying old ideas in new world. In conclusion, what happened has already happened and there’s nothing we can do about it. Even though Danish apologized, we don’t want a repeat. Cartoons were really insulting to our religion and to our prophet. I’m sure nobody will be quiet if it was about his/her religion.

Controversy over the Da Vinci Code

The title of this artice is 'Da Vinci Code' claims to be examined. This artice said the Waynesboro Area Ministerial Association would hold the meeting to focus on the controversy over the movie "the Da Vinci Code" , triggerd by the religious fever. The association would address the movie's global impact, because it worried that residents of Third World countries, where Christianity is a minority religion, would believe what they see on a movie screen.

I'm interested in the article because the controversy over the movie is becoming the hottest subject in the States. In Japan, my native country, the movie is one of the hottest subjects, but most people dosen't take the argument seriously, because they are not Christian. They are just looking forward to watching the movie as amusement. It is possible that some of Japanese temporarily believe what the movie descirbed, as the association worried, but they will forget it soon. In my opinion, not only Japanese but also non Cristian all over the world understand the Da Vinci Code is fiction, and they won't take what they see seriously. Thus, I think that the association doesn't need to be sensitive to the global effect of the movie so much.

Future of the web

I read Web inventor warns of 'dark' net on BBC News. It was about the founder of the web, Tim Berners-Lee, speaking at a conference on the future of the web. He is afraid that the big companies will start charging for access to the web, so that only the rich could have certain information.

I was very interested in this article because I'm interested in the web and what people do with it. I agree with Mr. Berners-Lee, because I think that the web is an amazing place that has brought a lot of good changes to the world. One of the best changes is that many people can get information now, and can use it to develop themselves. For example, I think that the web is a great place to learn English. Now that good material is free, I'm sure some people are very upset, but it's much better for most of us, because we can find what we want without spending all our money.
