YouTube and the American Society
In American society every day people create new things. YouTube and other websites became a big issue these days. As long as the Internet technology allow to the society to develop, by talking tours in this field and get more knowledge, or by creating a new area in this field. In February 2005, YouTube Joined The internet network and became a part of American society, people love to watch free movies, listen to the latest songs for free, and share others their daily moments. In small city in southern of Illinois, there is a great university called Southern Illinois University in Carbondal.(SIUC), Where you will find international students who asked hundreds of American students and workers. Asked them about there estimations and opinions about YouTube. In this website you will find unauthorized clips. However, the results of this survey were generally allowed it. Most American say no problem to watch unauthorized clips because this websites belong to the society and no one should control it. Others are agreed that it's governments` responsibility to obstruct these websites and obstruct it.
The results of the survey were divided by ages. Generally, similar ages from both genders have similar opinions about the questions. Also, people above 30 agreed that it's government responsibility to block YouTube and other sites resembling it. Although teenagers like to watch unauthorized clips, they refuse to copyright any movie and most of them never download entire movie from the internet, whether from YouTube, or from any other site.
February 2005, this year I was in my country and I did hear about YouTube. When I arrived to United States I found a lot of people interested in YouTube. I believe this survey is really affect the amercing society and their opinion about YouTube. Some answers give my image about American and the way they thinking about websites and who should control it. In my personal opinion I think the main responsible for control website are parents. They should watch their children and they'll decide what they watch and where they get the right knowledge. If you said the responsible of blocking websites is the government, I can tell you look for other countries where the government control everything even websites. China for example, in this article the government control website and there are people who dislike this control. YouTube and other websites belong to the society and people who should ballot whether block it or not, by making an origination not belong to the government and citizens who control it.

Control Group, by Mahboob
In this article “Chinese YouTubes Courting Controversy”, the author gives general idea about two site on China those are similar to YouTube (Tudou and YoQoo). On both sites people are downloading home made clip that some of it include sexual sense. However, Chinese government have mad a firewall (the great firewall of China). In addition, he maintain couple reasons why the Government block this kind of sites. In conclusion, he says that people will still have it by any way.
We as group of students (the control group) decided to make out a survey about should or should not Government control this kind of websites. On our survey we will ask American people about what they think about this issue and wither if they agree or do not agree with the Government control; furthermore, we will ask if they like this kind of sites or what it is showing on it. Finally, after we finish the survey we will be able to have a closely idea about this issue.
News Talk assignment
We started to work on copyright in CESL class. Also, we study news about YouTube in News Talk so we do this survey.
http://siucesslnewstalk.blogspot.com/2007/05/survey-rsults.html
We choose YouTube to be our issue survey because YouTube is a popular website and we want to know what people’s opinion about YouTube. Moreover, we decide to focus on American people and observe them while asking and talking. We usually did not choose time to do survey. We usually took our survey by ourselves. When we met people, we could ask them to do our survey. Through this survey, we could talk to American easily and knew what they thought. Generally, American people were nice to accept our survey. Some of them presented little confused about our survey because the questions are long and similar. In addition, American people like to talk and ask questions while doing survey. They were interested in this topic if we met American who is students. Therefore, this survey is interesting and makes us know more about American style.
Do you think people should pay for these clips? More than half of American people (69%) disagree with pay for these clips. Most male think they would not pay money and most female think the same as male. However, female is willing to pay for these clips more than male. Moreover, because this survey based on campus, most people are in 18-22 ages. The group of 18-22 is the biggest group in this survey. Most of them would not pay any money for these clips. Furthermore, the group of 23-30 also thinks people should not pay money for these clips. Those are two groups just have a few people agree with pay money for these clips. People who are over 30 ages think people should not pay money for these clips and people who disagree more than agree to pay money for these clips.
According to survey, I am surprised to see the result that people do not want to pay money whether male or female. Moreover, it is obvious that students like free products but over 30 ages people still do not want to pay any money for these clips because I think older people have more moral sense about infringement and they are ability to afford clips expense. Even people know YouTube is illegal, they still want to keep watching it.
I watched the YouTube before. It is easy to get the clips if you want to watch. Some people argue that YouTube is illegal and infringe copyright so this website should be prohibited. However, other people think even YouTube commits to regulation, people still find other way to get clips. It is not solution to prohibit YouTube. It has various opinions about YouTube. Nevertheless, in my opinion, I do not usually watch clips in YouTube but I think YouTube should exist. If people want to see older drama or program, they can find it in YouTube. Moreover, I remember I loved a drama when I was a child. However, I can not find it in stores now because it is too old but I found some clips about that drama and I am so happy to see that. Sometimes, clips as a memory. Although YouTube is infringement, the previous reason is people. People enjoy watching so YouTube exists. The government should make a regulation to regulate this kind of situation as YouTube but people should regulate themselves at first.

The Survey of YouTube
We are CESL students that take News Talk class in Carbondale. In this class, we discuss about verious issues of the news. We decided to do a survey on one of controversial problems, YouTube. It is a popular video sharing website that has a lot of video clips. However, this website gives us unauthorized clips, especially celebrities. Our group studied about privacy of Youtube because a lot of people are intruded their privacy by video clips like YouTube nowadays. We wanted to know how American people use YouTube and whether there is any differences in age and gender. We got American students and gave them 37 questions about Youtube on campus. They were cooperative and curious about YouTube. More than 250 people helped our survey.
According to the result of this survey, 93% of people have heard YouTube. Especially men, 96% of them know that. We can say that men are more interested in YouTube than women. Besides, this website seems to be very popular among 20s people(18-22 96%, 23-30 95%). 76% of people have a cell-phone camera. It means many people can take a picture easily even if they do not ask any permission. Only 25% people claimed that YouTube is guilty of piracy because most of people do not want to pay extra money for watching video clips. 14% of them think that they should pay. It means they can not afford for fun.
Through this survey, I found out YouTube makes most of students fun because they do not have TV in their dorm. We do not have to pay for watching a video clip in YouTube. And in my opinion, men are good at using computer than women. That's why more males watches YouTube than females. Moreover, I was surprised because most people know YouTube. I didn't know What YoutTube is when I was in Japan. Although we can enjoy unauthoried clips, I think we need permissions. Today our life depend media such as Internet and TV. We should stop abusing our privacy.

YouTube Survey Results
We are CESL students of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In this class of students are study for You tube, and we also decide to make the survey; therefore, we separate into some groups. In our group, we study the article about the issue about copyright of You tube, and we make some survey questions about the copyright such as '' do you think it is illegal to download the movie on You tube?''. However, many people know that all the movie on You tube are posted without authorization. Thus, we are curious about that whether people are still download the movie which are posted without authorization. This is the result of survey. In deed, I did this survey at student center in my college because lots of American prefer to study in student center, and the also prefer to eating, and sleeping, relaxing over there. Hence, it is very easy for me to do the survey. However, some people think it is waste time to do my survey, but some of them are willing to do that. Generally, 40% people were decline my asking to do the survey, but they use very polite way to say they do not want to do it. Of course other 40 percent of people used very nicely way to do my survey. I handed 14 survey, majority of them are the age between 18 to 22.
After we analyzed the survey, I am not really surprised the survey. According to this survey, the age from 18~22 of people have ever heard of You tube more than the people who are above 22. Also, the age from 18~22 of people go to you tube to watch movie clips are more than the people who are above 22. Moreover, the age from 18~22 of people are more often to watch the movie from You tube and they are more interested in You tube than the people who are above 22. Furthermore, the age from 18~22 of people think people should not pay for movie are much more than the people who are above 22. Therefore, we can find out that the people whose age are between 18~22 spend more time on You tube. Also, we can understand from the survey that You tube is really influenced the people whose age from 18~22 that they think watch the authorization of movie is normal. Thus, it shows that this age's people do not think serious about the concept of copyright.
Many elder people said that the medium not only gives young entertainment, but also changes and influences young people's concept of mind. The reason I say that is the people in this generation should not think copyright is important. However, if you ask an elder people or a professor, they will answer '' it is very important of copyright''. It is definitely that if people do not think copyright is important, they will get trouble in the feature such as they will not think it is bad to copy other people's essay and they will think it is right to use some one's sentence without the permission. Moreover, by analyzing this survey that we can understand the different between 18~22 and the people who are above 22. In my opinion, I think not only do they have different concept, the ways of their entertainment are also different. For example, the ways of entertainment for young people are maybe to see the movie on You tube which is authorization, and they may update the movie which is without the permission. Also, they are not feel guilty. However, this kind and this way of entertainment for elder people are very ridiculous. Due to the fact that elder people think it is ridiculous to see the movie which is without the permission that they will not go on You tube to download or they will not update the movie which is also without the permission. I think this is a really huge discovering that the concept of copyright one the difference of age.

YouTube Survey Results
We are CESL student of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In our class, NewsTalk, we studied YouTube we decided to do a survey of YouTube. We studied 3 part.(privacy, copyrights, control) And in my group (Hennah, Ai, Ryo, and Yasmeen), we discuss about privacy. We already have known that this matter is at issue in our society. However, we want to know more specific contents. Therefore, we gathered more information by asking people. First, we made many question about privacy and then we asked people. Our survey was performed at the students. I got 9 papers, I distributed them to people and I received them. As many people know the YouTube, there is a problem. Most people said to me YouTube is very popular website and it is useful. However, they worried about that their privacy expose without their permission.
After finishing survey, I found interest things from survey result.
Most Americans both male and female know YouTube and use it to see the movie. Particularly, men more use YouTube than women. About using cell phone camera, 76 percents of people have it. People who see the YouTube movie clip are 18 to 22. As 50 percent people agree/ disagree that law should not punish people who film you without your permission and people should be allowed to take any picture it is still controversy. Last many people said the government should control the languages that appears on YouTube.
I was surprised about the survey’s result because most people watch the YouTube. Particularly, I am interested in question about cell phone camera. 50 percents people do not care about someone who takes their pictures unconsciously. I once read article about cell phone camera in my country, the article shown me many Korean worry about it someone who takes their pictures unconsciously. So cell phone manufactures make cell phone camera when someone use cell phone camera to take picture produce a sound. It is true YouTube is good site for people. However, it can induce privacy violation; YouTube takes a measure to settle this problem.

We are CESL students of SIU in Carbondale. We are taking a newstalk calss studying the news and having a discussion. We read and article about issue of YouTube. Then, we decided to do a survey on YouTube. This is a results of the survey. My group studied about copyright of YouTube. We read an article and we wanted to know whether people think YouTube is illegal or not because YouTube have films that is posted without authorization. So we made questions, for example, do you think YouTube is illegal or not? Each person handed out the survey at least eight surveys. I handed out my eight surveys in my dormitory because there are many Americans and it was easy to hand out. Everyone who were handed out the survey accepted the survey nicely and they returned the survey to me soon after they finished to answers.
After we analyzed the survey, we knew the facts. More than 90% of people who are under 18 to under 30 years old and more than 80% of people who are over 30 years old have ever heard of TouTube. Also, more than 80% of people who are under 18 to under 30 years old go to YouTube to watch movie clipes. These results show that how YouTube is popular among people. Almost half of people answered "no" the question about YouTube has a guilty of copyright. On the other hand, the percentages of the answer "yes" and "I don't know" are about 25%. The percentages of the question about you have ever watched unauthorized clips "yes" or "no" are almost same about 50%. However, the answers of "yes" are more than answers of "no".
I think people's answers are honest answers. Through the results, we knew how YouTube is popular among people and how people think about YouTube. I didn't surprized at the results very much. However, I was surprized the answers about the question that you'd continue to watch free clips if you knew it was illegal to watch them because almost 65% of people answered "yes" compared to the answeres "no" were around 30%. It is obvious that people like the free sharing website like YouTube, so even if people can't use YouTube, they will find another site and keep watching. This proglem is endless. I think we should analyzed the surveys by using computers. If we did, we could shorten the time we analyzed and I think computer is correct.

The YouTube Survey Results
Our class is News Talk class in CESL. We study the news, and we decided to do a survey about YouTube. This is a result about a survey of YouTube. Our group was studying about copy-right in YouTube and we read the article about it. We wanted to know several things about YouTube, so we made questions about it. For example, we wanted to know how many people watch movie clips in YouTube and how often they use it. The most things that we wanted to know whether people think YouTube is guilty or not. Each person had to do a survey toward eight Americans, so I handed out my eight surveys in my dormitory because many Americans lived in my dormitory. When I gave them the survey, they were so nice and friendly. All of them gave me back the survey soon when they finished it. Therefore, it was not hard for me to do a survey and I could get a result of the survey easily.
I found several things through the result of this survey. 80 percents of people who are from 18 to 30 watch movie clips in YouTube, but only 39 percents of over 30 years old people watch them in YouTube. It means YouTube is more popular among younger people. Also, 50 percents of each age people says YouTube is guilty. However, 95 percents of males and 80 percents of females say sites like YouTube should not be illegal. Moreover, about 60 percents of people who are from 18 to 30 answers that they want to continue to watch free clips if they knew if it was illegal to watch them. On the other hand, many people who are over 30 say that they stop watching free clips in YouTube if it is illegal.
In my opinion, most people do not care about YouTube even if it puts movie clips on the Internet without permission because they just want to enjoy watching movie clips free. I was surprised at the result of this survey that most people wanted to continue to watch free clips if they knew it was illegal to watch them. Before I did the survey, I expected that most people said they stopped watching free clips if it was illegal. Therefore, I was amazed at this result and I thought they were egoistic. However, older people who are over 30 said they stopped watching free clips if it was illegal. I thought they had more morals compared with younger people. In addition, if YouTube is disappeared on the Internet, other people will make a site like YouTube. Through this survey I thought it was difficult to find the solution to remove sites like YouTube on the Internet because many people were eager to watch free clips.

YouTube
We, students of the SIUC’s Center of English as a Second Language, located in Carbondale IL, advised by Mr Leverett and Mrs Phillips-Zee, decided to do a survey on YouTube. We asked Americans several questions related to privacy, copy rights, and government control because these are the main topics of our “newstalk” class, as well as article discussion, that is, each day one student brings up a polemic topic he/se has found trough an article and the other classmates are supposed to discuss about it. The answers were computed according to both gender and age of the surveyed people. As we are learning English, the main goal of this survey was to force us to talk to Americans, practicing our English. I did my survey very quickly since not only my neighbors but also all of their friends are friendly Americans. I went to their house and asked them some questions, and the next day their friends knocked on my door because they wanted to answer the survey too. One fact very funny happened. One girl, who was extremely drunk, wanted to answer, but she couldn’t read very well, so I had to read for her, and also it took a long time, because she couldn’t concentrate in only one thing at once. Everybody I asked knew about YouTube, but not everybody uses it very often, and a very few people have put movies on Youtube, or even sent movies to friends.
I am not surprised with the answers. I was expecting exactly what the result of the survey has showed us. Almost every American has heard about YouTube. Almost everybody has cell phone. I’ve noticed that men are more likely to use the computer as a sort of entertainment because they answered positively the questions related to video downloading and “whether they are interested in YouTube or not” more than women did. And also they are more likely to seek illegal forms for keeping watching clips. Both men and women didn’t know about the problem between YouTube and Viacom, however, after I explained them, they gave their opinion, even though the result of the survey doesn’t show it. Women are more afraid of being filmed, they tend to keep their privacy more than men, in their opinion, the people who film you without permission should be punished. For me the most interesting finding was about government control. The number of people that thinks the government should control what is showed is greater among over-thirty’s. It seems they are trying to protect their children. They don’t want to expose their children to everything posted online. It can be proved by looking at the number of women over-thirty that said the government should control not only the language but also the movies posted online on YouTube. Some of them said the government should be able even to block websites.
In my opinion this survey reflects the reality. I’ve read men are more likely to use the Internet as an entertainment. While for some people YouTube is a way to have fun, for other it is nothing more than business. I don’t agree with some things that are shown on there, but I also don’t agree with some kind of advertisement shown on TV. I don’t like some kind of appeal that companies are used to doing to get new clients. I feel the company has had success when I see a nice ad, that I can enjoy watching it. But I feel the opposite when I see ads that one company tries to shame another. It also happens on the political sphere. So, I agree with free clips, and I enjoy watching them, but I totally disagree with illegal things, as well as movies that can influence badly in the children’s education. We have asked many people, I would say we’ve asked enough number of people to give us a good notion about what Americans know and think about the issue. I would include question about whether they have computer or not. Another important thing for me is the frequency they are used to using the internet, because one person who uses the Internet with low frequency, or even doesn’t use it won’t very likely know about YouTube. My last opinion is that we should have asked them the reason why they would block a movie. It was a very interesting survey though. Beyond the practice of our listening & speaking, we could be more informed about a current issue.

YouTube Survey Results
As you know, Carbondale is not a big city like Chicago, but I’m sure that it must be a good place to do survey. People that I asked to do the survey were so kind and very welcome to answer many questions. In news talk class, we decided to do a survey on YouTube because it has many controversial issues. We were divided into three groups; privacy, copyrights, and government control. I decided that I would do a survey about privacy because it’s becoming very controversial issue not only on YouTube, but also on every part of places in the world. Then, I wanted to know how Americans think about their privacy and how come they think about it. I distributed fifteen copies of the survey paper among members of SIUC soccer club. They were so nice to me, because no one complained to me about this huge survey. At the time that I gave survey paper to them, many people said that YouTube is so nice, and watching someone’s embarrassing scene is funny and makes them laugh. However, if they walk in victim’s shoes, they said that they will be mad, and try to sue someone who sends their pictures without their permission. I thought I also would feel that way.
After doing the survey and watching its results, I saw that 91 percents of Americans have heard of YouTube, and 76 percents of them use YouTube to watch movie clips. As a result, I found that males are much more likely to watch YouTube than females. Also, according to the survey, 92 percents of Americans have cell-phone and 76 percents of them have cell-phone cameras. Moreover, approximately 50 percents of Americans think the law should punish people who film you without your permission. In addition, Americans who think that people should be allowed to take any picture of anyone who is in public are 50 percents. Also, males are more likely to agree with taking any picture of anyone who is in public than females.
Individually, I was curious to see some questions about cell-phone camera in this survey because in Japan, we also have some serious problems of the way to use cell-phone cameras in public. When I looked at the percentage of people who have cell-phone cameras, there was nothing to surprise for me. However, when I looked at the result of the question which is that people should be allowed to take any picture of anyone who is in public, I was surprised because only around 50 percents of Americans answered “No”, which means another 50 percents of them don’t mind if they are taken their pictures secretly in public by someone. In Japan, there are some ways to protect people who are taken their pictures unconsciously by someone secretly. For example, as American cell-phone may have, when you try to take any picture by using Japanese cell-phone, your cell-phone will give sound. The sound is like alarm, so all people around you can notice who took a picture just now. I think this survey is really good because it tells us a lot of facts that people think of YouTube, but if I raise some negative points in this survey, I would point out why it did not ask how YouTube change in the future; is there still YouTube or same kinds of places where people can exchange their clips and watch movies for free after ten years? The reason why I want to know is that internet technology is improving day by day, so people’s privacy might be totally lost in the future unless improving internet technology stops. Therefore, I thought asking Americans about it would be important. Finally, after I watched results of the survey, I noticed that Many Americans are more interested in YouTube than I thought, and they think it’s very controversial. Therefore, I’ll keep my eyes on this controversial issue from now on.

The survey of YouTube
We are CESL student of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. In our NewsTalk class, we study about the issue of news and we decided to do a survey of YouTube. And in my group, we were studying about the Control of YouTube. We wanted to know about the idea of controling for people. Also, we wanted to know about if American government block, what people would and whether the government should be able to block websites and language. We were interested in whether YouTube itself should control film clips. I handed out 13 surveys on my domitory and cafeterria. I got 13 surveys and people were recieved our survey and they answered the questions seriously. They said to me about YouTube that it was so good site for everyone because it was so funny and for free but also it had some plobrems about control and privacy. However, some people didn't know about YouTube, so I was very surprised.
According to this survey, most of people (Male 96%, Female 74%) have ever heard of YouTube, especially young people (18-22years old, 92%) know about it a lot. But a lot of people (Male 70%, Female 81%) have not ever made a clip and put it on YouTube, so they just enjoyed to watch some movie clips. And also many people (Male 95%, Female 80%) believe that sites like YouTubes should not be illegal. I am interested in the question whether the government should be able to block websites.
186 people think about the goverment can not block websites because people try to find another site. And there is a limit to control because of privacy. So, people think about control is so difficult because Internet have already spread.
In my opinion, YouTube is good site for most people because they can get fun but there is so stupid movie clips like predudice and sexual harrasment or violence. So we must pay attention to watch YouTube. I found that people are interested in free movie clips according to survey, so they don't want to pay money to watch it. I think this is good advantege of YouTube. However, the government should make some rules to protect privacy and to control some bad sites. Especially people think about privacy a lot. And males are interested in YouTube than females. So, I felt males' opinion are stronger than females'one. And I was surprised at a lot of young people use Internet a lot and they try to protect YouTube because they want to watch YouTube for free to get fun. Finally, I think this survey included a lot of questions so, I felt this was too much. Some people didn't want to answer because of amount of questions. I think the next survey had better make not too much questions.

YouTube Survey Result
We are CESL students at SIUC in Carbondale. We study the news, and we decided to do a survey on YouTube . My group’s topic is to control about YouTube, so we wanted to know about should government control YouTube, the movie clips, and language. We wanted to ask Americans about YouTube. I handed out our surveys to eight Americans at student center in SIUC. They were nice to me when I handed out the surveys. While they answered the surveys, I thought they were not surprised the questions because I think they know what YouTube is. However, the survey had many questions. Thus, they seemed to answer hard and spent little long time. After I got the survey, I could understand what Americans think about YouTube.
Many males and females Americans (76%) have seen the movie clips on YouTube, and 62% of American people are interested in YouTube. However, many Americans (97 people of 197 people) try to find another site if they could not use YouTube free of charge. Thus, most Americans do not want government to control YouTube. Also, they do not believe site like YouTube should be illegal. Almost half of the Americans think YouTube itself should control the film clips. Older people (>30) are more likely to think it than younger people (18-30).
The survey explains about what Americans think about YouTube. I think because of free they want to use YouTube. Both males and females think almost same things about using YouTube, for example, they can enjoy to see the movie clips. After I knew the result, I was surprised because I think YouTube is not similar to Americans. However, they know and often use it. Even older people know and use YouTube. Also, the people do not want government to control the site. I could understand what American think about YouTube. Finally, I want to ask the people who work government about what they think about YouTube and do they want to control it.

Analysis of the YouTube Survey
Today as the internet technology has been developed rapidly, a number of problems have happened. Infringement of privacy or copyright and overflows of improper words or scenes are the typical examples. While I was discussing social issues in News Talk class of CESL(Center of English as a Second Language), which belongs to SIUC, I found out that YouTube has been involved in some problems such as $ 1 billion lawsuit of copyright infringement. CESL students of News Talk class and I conducted a survey of how SIUC students think about the problems of YouTube. The questionnaire was made by gathering some questions from each discussion group. I carried out the survey at the Student Center and participants were happily answered the survey questions. The topic of my group is the copyright, and I’ll explain our survey result related to the copyright.
The survey told us how SIUC students think about YouTube and the problems related to the internet. To the question that whether YouTube is guilty or not, 42 percent of the participants said that YouTube is not guilty and only 25% of respondents answered YouTube is guilty. 74 percent told that YouTube would not lose the lawsuit or they didn’t know who would win. Many young students don’t think YouTube will lose. Also, 63 percent of respondents agreed with that YouTube has just been providing a place to post video clips and the infringement of copyright is not YouTube’s fault. Especially, younger people under 23 are more likely to defend YouTube than older people over 22. 58 percent of participants have ever watched unauthorized clips, and 69 percent said that they shouldn’t pay for the YouTube clips.
I think YouTube is innocent. It is not YouTube that showed unauthorized clips. Additionally, just providing a place to post video clips is not illegal. YouTube doesn’t know how the spaces will be used. YouTube can’t supervise every video clip all the time. Also, many survey participants have similar idea. One thing I found through the survey is younger people are likely to defend YouTube. Maybe this is because younger people use more time than older people do. And they are more accustomed to the internet culture. In our survey, there were some mistakes. Some questions were similar, and some words were ambiguous. If we correct these faults, our survey will be better.

You Tube survey result
We are international students in center of English as second language at SIUC. In newstalk class we are study the news, and we decided to do survey on You Tube. We were interested in this web site because it comes popular day after day. We were five students in on group. We learned about relation between You Tube and many thing and we decided to discuss about You Tube and privacy. We made survey and it was for American only. We asked them how they think about You Tube. I took around 16 copies and I get 8 of them done at first weekend since I took them. Then I took another 8 and I did all of them done during week. I met people at different place some of them in student center and some of them in bus. And all people were very nice with me and some of them were mind and they said “I’m sorry I don’t like survey” but they asked me about the topic. And some of them surprised me because they didn’t have any idea about You Tube.
After we did all survey we collect all the survey with all class and we find out the result. The result shows us more information about what people think about You Tube. Most of American (62%) said no and the question was (do you think all people thinking cell-phone pictures and making clips will change society as we know it). The average of people who said NO was around 116 out of 186 and the other said YES. The total was (38%) of people who said Yes and (62%) of people who said NO. Also. We asked them if they have any comment abut the question and their answer was about freedom, society and behavior. They said they will lose freedom and it will change the behavior.
In my opinion, I was surprised about the result because many people said no. this result mean to many people that they don’t mind if someone take them pictures and put them in You Tube. The people who said yes were a few. But they mention too many good comments. Also, the survey was interested to many people but it as too long. Many people don’t answer both sides. And some of them ignore many questions.

The result of survey
I’m taking a News Talk class that study about news. We surveyed about Youtube in the SIU. Our group’s topic is copyright. Today, Youtube are having many movies or clips that not only authorized movies, but also unauthorized movies. I wanted to know what people think about this issue. So, I asked to American about Youtube’s copyright. I handed out our surveys in front of Students Center. I could get eight surveys easily, because they were willing to answer the surveys. I thought American is so kind people, because nobody refused when I gave them it. One woman said to me “this is a good survey.” at the time. And we talked about Youtube a few minutes. It was good for me.
We got much information from the result of survey. Most American has watched unauthorized clips and 67% people think shouldn’t pay for copyright clips. But 25% of them think Youtube is guilty. Even if it is illegal, 64% Americans will continue to watch free clips. In addition, 89% people will find a way to watch copyrighted clips for free, if Youtube lose. But over 30 people are not interesting in Youtube.
I was surprised that 76% of people watch Youtube. Also, I knew that many people watch copyrighted clips. Even if Youtube lose, and people must pay to watch copyrighted clips, people will find a way to watch them for free anyway. But if nobody paid the money to watch movies, nobody can get money and they won’t be able to make movies. Now, people think about their fun. But it’s important to think about copyright for people who made that. And owner of Youtube should stop that appears unauthorized clips. They can work without copyright clips. I like Youtube, so I don’t want Youtube to disappear on the web.

YouTube Survey's result
We are CESL students in SIUC, Carbondale. We study news, and we decided to do a survey on YouTube. Our group contains of four students: Yasmeen, Ai, Ryo, and Hannah. Our group is making survey about privacy. We learned that some people like to interrupt other peoples’ privacy by taking their pictures without their knowledge. We are interested to know more about this issue, and gathered more information by seeing Americans’ reaction about this topic. So, we ask Americans many questions such as have you ever heard of YouTube? Are you interested in YouTube? Have you ever made a clip and put it in YouTube? And has anyone filmed you and put your film in YouTube?. I went to Laundromat, and while people were waiting their clothes to be done, I handed them out survey papers. In the beginning there were just three Americans, but after have an hour, there were seven Americans. So, I gave survey papers for six of them. In the end I got nine papers. I found that American people are very friendly, and they have willing to help other people. They were smiling, and two males asked me if I have more papers to full them out. Most of them were laughing when I gave them the survey about the question in the survey says has anyone filmed you and put your film in YouTube? They said we will open YouTube and search to fiond if there is any picture for us while the other said may be we don’t know. However, I think one of them said yes there was some one who took his picture without her permission when she was in a high school, but she said that she don’t know if her picture in YouTube or not.
In this survey, the result is that most Americans both males and females go to YouTube to watch movie clips. Males are more likely watch movie clips in YouTube than females. The most ages who like to watch YouTube clips are teen ages from 18 to 22. Most males will find another site to watch video clips if YouTube will charge them while most females will pay for video clips if YouTube will charge them. The numbers of males who made a clip and put it in YouTube more than females numbers. Ages from 18 to 22 are the most ages who someone filmed them and put their clips in YouTube. Females who said yes, law should punish people who filmed them without permission are more than males who said yes. Most females said that people shouldn’t be allowed to take any pictures of anyone who is in public while most males said yes people should be allowed to take any picture of anyone who is in public. Most ages between 18 to 22 likes paparazzi more than any other ages. The numbers of both males and females who said government shouldn’t control the language that appears on YouTube are more than the numbers of both males and females who said yes the government should control the languages that appears on YouTube.
In my opinion I was surprised about the survey’s result because most males are like to watch YouTube more than females and they are more interested to watch YouTube more than Females. However, females will pay for YouTube if it charges them money, and males will find another site. That was really surprised me. I think it is realistic that 18 to 22 ages are more enjoy YouTube video clips than any other ages. In this survey I found that the less interested ages in YouTube is than under 18. I think this is very strange result because under age 18 teen ages have curiosity to discover and to see any thing new. This survey has some faults. One of these faults is it is very long, and I know if I give this survey to large number of people, some people will refuse to do it. Another fault in this survey is some questions are quit similar. I think if we combine some questions with each other, it will be better. Also, In my opinion if we just put yes and question, it will be easier for American to fill up the survey.

YouTube survey results
In newstalk class, we studied not only about current news but also about YouTube controversy. My group’s issue is about YouTube and copyright. We learned relationship between YouTube’s video clips and copyright and discussed that YouTube is or is not safe. To know more details, we made a survey, and the survey’s object is only American. We asked Americans that how they think about YouTube. The result of survey is here. During I surveyed Americans, they helped me without reserve. And then I could approach them on an assessment. I surveyed mostly in dormitory because I live there and met Americans easily in there. My subjects of this survey are all students of SIU. So, I can understand Americans’ thought my age.
This survey’s results show us many things that are their thoughts about YouTube. Most Americans (91%) have heard of YouTube, and 61% of Americans are interested in YouTube. About half of Americans thinks YouTube is not guilty, and 25% of Americans just thinks YouTube is guilty. Moreover, Americans almost will find a new way to watch free movie clips, if people have to pay to watch that on YouTube. 64% of Americans would continue to watch free clips, if they knew it was illegal to watch them. Also, about half of them (53%) think the law should punish people who film them without permission.
These results of survey explain that people think only their benefits. People want to watch video clips if there clips infringe copyright law. However, if these clips relate to themselves, they want to punish people who upload video on sites without permissions. I am surprised about that fact. I think sites such as YouTube should be controlled by film’s honor rather than by government. Government should enact law for owner of film in order to limit copyright infringement.

Survey Results by Mahboob
We are students in Center of English as Second Language, Carbondale, Illinois USA. Our class is News Talk, with Mrs. philp-zee, and our class topic is all about news and how to read it and understanding it. In addition, in the end of the level (EAP2, level six) we decided to make a survey about YouTube. My group (Control Group) is looking if the American people will agree if the Government should control this kind of sites or not.
Each one of our group takes out 15 copies from the surveys. I decide to give it out on the student center on the break time at Southern Illinois University because there where I found a lot of student in nice mode. They were nice to me and so friendly, and I did not have any argue or unusual issue, I think it was this way because I did it on the right time and place.
After we collect the surveys we found out that all most all American have herd about YouTube (196 out of 103,men and women) and 151, men and women out of 206 have had use it. Acutely we were (our group) looking for the questions that related to the Government’s control. We find out that (on question number 27) more then the half does not agree that YouTube moves should be under Government control, and most of them were on age 18-22. As well, (on question number 28) more then have does not agree that Government should control the language that appears on YouTube, and the most were on the same age. In addition, we asked if the Government should be able to block websites, but most answers goes with no (186 out of 263, the most no was 102 from the age 18-22). Finally, the results for question 34 were really interested, 175 out of 239 answered that sites like YouTube should not be illegal. However, all the problems we’ve heard from what the move done to the community.
In my opinion sites like YouTube should not be under control from the Government, but from the owners. Government allowed all kinds of websites such as political and pornography; in addition, the movies are showing on YouTube are one of a kind that does not has any pornography senses. However, if the problem will be about the copyrights, this is will be the owner responsibility, and they have to take its risk. Finally, all most all there answer were fear fine from the right ages and the right gender.

Comments:
YouTube Survey Project
This term Mr. Leverett and Newstalk students decided to find out people's opinion about YouTube. In addition, we developed this survey, My group, which is Government Control wanted to know if Americans believed that the government control websites or not. I believed that we would find out that most Americans believe that the government should not block YouTube. This hypothesis maybe changed by age, gender, nationality, but finally all of it would show that Americans against the government control on websites, especially YouTube. We developed a survey that had 37 questions. Each of us was to ask eight people ( I asked to ten people for extra points ), with different genders, ages and same nationality : Americans. In addition -we marked whether each respondent was young or old, male or female- respondents' answers showed that they believe uncontrol on websites.
The main subject on our survey is relation between YouTube and the American government.
❐ 91 males out of 128 males think that the government should not control the movies on Youtube.
70 females out of 106 females think that the government should not control the movies on Youtube.
❐ 84 males out of 114 males think that the government should not control the language on YouTube.
66 females out of 98 females think that the government should not control the language on YouTube.
❐ 98 males out of 135 males think that the government should not be able to block websites.
85 females out of 121 females think that the government should not be able to block websites.
❐ 100 males out of 126 males think that the government should not control tha language on YouTube.
85 females out off 114 females think that the government should not control tha language on YouTube.
This result is not surprising for me. Before we made this survey, I was sure to find out that Americans against the government control. If I were this survey again, I'd like to ask international people. It could be help to support my idea which is mostly people do not support the government control on websites.

question #24 & 25
Main survey is here.
24. Do you think all the people taking cell-phone pictures
and making clips will change society as we know it?
25. If so, how?
-People will not have freedom
-People will lose their freedom
-Everyone will have less privacy- perfect example is Sadaam's execution
-It changes the views of privacy
-People will lose their privacy
-It takes away privacy
-because they invade people's privacy
-Privacy will be gone
-Privacy is gone.
-less privacy, more concern for appearance and actions
-invade personal space/privacy
-Less respect for private sights
-more things & events will be documented, like VA Tech shooting: some was caught on cell/camera phone
-Example: Virginia Tech students started filming and they're on YouTube---crazy!
-VA Tech students immediately got clips of the shooter; I would have run away; I never would have thought to get my cell phone.
-who knows, but it will know
-access immediately
-more accountability and exposure
-People will view others in society very differently
-making pictures available more often
-free exchange of ideas and technology
-Crimes will be caught more often
-They will MAKE US AFRAID
-It will show new things
-It's not fair
-there will be no more control
-I don't know, it's just not right
-increasing problem
-It'll open up all forms of privacy that will be bad
-real film will disappear and in future generations we will not have the same sort of documentation because many will be lost on hard drives and old cell phones
-it may change people's behavior
-disclosing people's lives. This can have an effect on how people are perceived.
-Depends.
-Big brother is watching YOU
-because you never know where a picture, or file of oneself might end up.
-I want to know what happens with an image of myself.
-They are the new distributors of the media. The pictures are videos- the release can affect people. They are the new "paparazzis."
-Make movies cheaper.

Plastic Surgery
I found this article, Teens going 'under the knife', online at the BBC news, there is no author. It's about an issue of teenagers' plastic surgery. Recently, the population of teenage girls who go under the knife is increasing. They have plastic surgery because they want to be more beautiful. They ask their parents to pay money for their surgery, or some of them borrow money from the bank or other credit. The girls who had plastic surgery are satisfied although having plastic surgery costs a lot of money and has to endure the pain.
In my opinion, people who are teenagers should not have plastic surgery except teenagers have cosmetic surgery because of medical cases. I understand that people, especially girls, have hopes to be more beautiful. However, it is sad story that many teenagers are turning to plastic surgery because I think they do not need it. Also, their bodies are given by their parents, so I do not want them to cut their precious bodies. On the other hand, if a girl has serious problems because of her body, and she goes under the knife and she will have better life, I think it is OK. However, I think personality is more important than appearance, so people should respect person’s personality more than appearance.

Hello to less privacy
This article talks about privacy. Some people violate other people’s privacy using cell phone. These days, many cell phones have a function is take a picture. Particularly, it is possible to take a picture stealthily as well as take a picture any situation. Because of this, many people can use cell phone to take a picture; moreover, this situation makes an internet site, kid of You Tube, ; therefore, it is at issue in society. Celebrities as well as regular people’s privacy are object. And many pictures are teenagers must not see it such as sex and drinking.
I think taking a picture without permission is crime. We know privacy is important to everybody. If we think about it we find our picture on the web site, how did you feel? Answer is simple. It is good government controls the problem but most important thing is we keep and respect other’s privacy ourselves.

BIG FAULTS DESERVE BIG PUNISHMENTS
This article , Capital Punishment: Life or Death , shows two different opinions: execution and against execution. The author states that capital punishment is the hardest form of punishment in United States. Next, execution was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court between 1972 and 1976. Capital punishment is a difficult issue and this article shows the different two sides: for OR against. This article argues that;
A. Pro
1. A guilty of murder should be death
2. Executions maximize public safety
B. Con
1. Death penalty wrong morally because it is the cruel of a human life
2. Capital punishment is immoral, unfair and discriminatory in practice.
In my opinion, person who executed, this person deserves it. In my country execution is not legal. However, sometimes I wish we could have this system and yet I believe that just God can take souls.

The title of my article is that discussed who is smarter man or woman. Men in general do better in IQ test than women by about five points. The people who take high scores in IQ test and they are in the level of genius, there are 5.5 men for every woman and that explain why men won Nobel Prizes more than women. Professor Lynn say men have bigger brain than women by 10 per cent. The answer of question "Are men smarter than women?" is yes their many studies say that.
Men are smarter than women in general. I agree with the authors because men in general have better score in IQ test and men are won Nobel Prizes more than women. There are more intelligent men in history such as Albert Einstein. In my personal opinion men are more intelligent than women in general. Men are more intelligent and smarter than women in general for several reasons. Most men take better score in IQ test. The women who won Nobel Prizes are less than men who won it. In history men are more known than women for these reasons I can say that men in general smarter than women.

I read the article, which was written by Ken Fisher. This article is talk about the copyright. It can be believed that almost everyone knows you tube in this generation because people can downland not only the movie clips, but video clips as well. However, it also brings some problems such as authorization. In deed, the movie clips and the video clips which we download are all without authorization. Therefore, some movie owners feel very unhappy that people can see the movie without authorization. Moreover, they think that you tube interrupts their profits; thus, they are argues that whether you tube whether You Tube infringes copyright or not.
In my opinion, I think you tube is a good website because we can find the movie without pay any money. Not only we can see the movie clips from there, we also can put our memory on it. Therefore, this is kind very good thing for people to upload or download. Moreover, you tube is a very organized website, for example, if you want find some movies on Internet, there is no such an organized website like you tube that you can only type the ''key word'',and you tube can show all the movies which related to the key word. Hence, people do not have to spent so many time on finding the movie. As a result, it is the reason that I think people should support this website.
